a secret elopement, a sunrise ceremony, a supermoon

A couple of weeks ago I was lucky enough to have a very last minute bride contact me about making a bouquet, crown and boutonnieres for her elopement.

She was remarkably calm for someone planning a wedding on such short notice (it was about ten days in the future when we first spoke). She also confided that at the time, only the photographer, the dress salon (the fabulous Lena Medoyeff, also on NW 23rd) and now me knew that she and her fiance were planning to elope! They intended to have a sunrise ceremony, on the night of the Supermoon, in the beautiful Oneonta Gorge outside of Portland. I'm pretty sure this is the most romantic assignment I've received to date (bring em on!) I was determined that while this was a small order, I wanted it to be perfect for them.

I was thrilled yesterday to receive a first photo from their wedding day.

The bride loved a similar bouquet she had seen in my portfolio and particularly wanted greens and deep reds.
